Skuttlebutt 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Trophy: Best Sauvignon Blanc Semillon – Perth Royal Wine Show 2019

Trophy: Best Dry White Table Wine [Blends] – Perth Royal Wine Show 2019

Two trophies at the Perth Wine Show for Skuttlebutt 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon continues the great run of wine show success for team Stella Bella under Luke Joliffe [winemaker] and Steve Martin [viticulturist].

Skuttlebutt is one of the most successful brands launched in WA over the past 20 years and continues to over deliver at its price point.

The trophies for the 2019 Skuttlebutt SBS come on top of three vintages in succession [2015-2017] of this wine being included in Halliday’s Top 100.

The 2019 vintage is a blend of 74% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Semillon and 2% Pinot Gris.
It is brilliant in condition, almost water white in colour with the faintest hint of pale lemon.
The nose and palate offer a delicious and perfectly proportioned mix of strongly regional citrus, stone fruit, herbaceous and tropical fruits.
There is lovely texture and great length of flavour driven by soft acidity.

Margaret River produces the best Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blends in Australia and when well made is world class, even at this humble price point.

Luke Joliffe was appointed senior winemaker in 2014 and in a relatively short time has taken all wines produced at Stella Bella to a new level. The yet to be released Skuttlebutt 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon also won a gold medal at the Perth Wine Show. When your ‘entry level’ wines are drinking as well as this you are in good hands.
