More about the Producer

Established: 1985
Owners: Neil & Maria Empson
Winemaker: Franco Bernabei

Neil Empson and renowned oenologist Franco Bernabei are the two names behind Monte Antico, a ‘piccolo SuperTuscan’ blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet. The wine is aged for one year in oak (80% Slavonian barrels, 20% in barrique) and is dark ruby in colour with a bouquet of leather, earth, herbs, black cherry and plum. The round, spicy and elegant palate makes it extremely versatile with any fare from pasta to meat, fowl and cheese.
