ROSILY VINEYARD

Margaret River, Western Australia
From their first vintage in 2000 Rosily Vineyard have established themselves as serious players in the Margaret River region. Few start up wineries have such clear direction as to what varieties and styles are best suited to their site and the answer to any question in relation to either the vineyard or winery has simply been 'do what is best for the wine'. Perhaps not a totally unique approach but its often a tough call when there are economic ramifications

More about the Producer

Winemaker: Mike Lemos
Established: 1994
Production: 5,500 Dozen
Vineyards: 12.29 ha
Viticulture: Certified Organic

Situated on Yelverton Road in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River, this vineyard is clearly a special site.

All Rosily Vineyard wines show definitive regional character, reflecting the meticulous attention from Sam Castleden who has nurtured this vineyard from the mid 1990’s.

As of May 2017, Rosily Vineyard has been ‘Certified Organic’, a result of the team behind Rosily Vineyard’s total commitment to the long term sustainability of their land.

In a strong line up of wines its difficult to determine the highlights. However, Rosily Vineyard have recently released their first ‘reserve’ wine – the 2016 Reserve Chardonnay and 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon show this property’s unlimited potential.

Since 2015 (when they began their official conversion to organic viticulture) they have won 15 gold medals and 4 trophies for best wine in class.

And a personal favourite is the Rosily Vineyard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, produced in exactly the same style from 2ooo onwards and consistently shows that this blend can produce world class wines. A bonus with this wine is that it will be a great drink over the next 6-8 years, so well worth enjoying some now and putting a few away.
